Paris Fashion Week

As always with the city of the biggest fashion names, Paris reinforced a few trends we have seen already in New York, London and Paris and spawned a few of its very own. The capes and cape jackets we saw in Milan found new life in Paris at Maison Martin Margiela and Junya Watanabe, as well as at Loewe and Givenchy. Milan's military vibe popped up again at Junya Watanabe, Isabel Marant and Chloe, whilst the Italian city's fascination with the dandy trouser suit - as seen at Prada - also spread to the city of light, with Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton, Haider Ackermann and Yves Saint Laurent all offering their versions. After the purple-punctuated darkness of Milan, two new colours took centre stage in Paris - with bottle green at Akris and Haider Ackermann and Prussian blue at Celine and Stella McCartney offering us bright new wardrobe options for next winter. Elie Saab and Collette Dinnigan brought a month of shows to a final close yesterday, the former with its signature red-carpet-worthy, shimmering dresses (as modelled by Karlie Kloss, Natasha Poly and Anja Rubik), and the latter with lace and sequinned looks with feathered detailing.
