GUINEVERE VAN SEENUS, at 34, is one of a crop of "older," more experienced models causing a stir by dominating this season's campaigns. Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima, Saskia de Brauw and Mariacarla Boscono - all in their thirties - have secured the season's key advertising shoots, and former Miu Miu face Van Seenus' appeal was not lost on Aquascutum's Joanna Sykes."I have always worked with models of all ages for my own collection, Sykes, including Daphne Selfe - who is in her eighties - and strongly believe that beautiful and considered design looks good on all women," Sykes explained. "We chose Guinevere because she is a very interesting beauty - a true modern classic. There are models that come in and out of fashion but Guinevere is completely iconic. She has incredible, porcelain-like skin with an amazing bone structure and features. She appeals to a sophisticated consumer who appreciates luxurious understatement and reinforces Aquascutum as a brand that appeals across all generations."Shot by Willy Vanderperre at New York's Milk Studios with a "clean, minimal aesthetic" using a portraiture style, the images capture the essence of the brand under Sykes: a "calm, chic simplicity that epitomises modern classics". But, despite enjoying the shoot and being pleased with the final images, Sykes has already moved on to the next challenge.
